I'm impressed with this torch. I'm able to get copper hot a lot faster with a butane tank and completing my solder work faster. I love the button that holds the on switch, but had to deduct a star for two reasons: about half the time, I have to really press the trigger switch and jiggle it to get the "hold" released (this has terrified me as as I don't like a delay in getting a hot flame turned off). The "volume control" on the gas also isn't great and is nearly useless (for an expensive device, I expected more). The dial knob is basically "on" or "off" -- there is no in-between, meaning if I try to reduce the flame size, the flame just goes out. It's an on or off condition (with a large flame). Has me wondering if mine has a slight defect in the gas volume control, but definitely lost a star as I expected better precision for flame control. There are times I don't need a gigantic flame cone when soldering in a confined space, and this gigantic flame is a bit too hot for reducing.
